I AM SO CONFUSED
Okay so, somebody called Lumid (which sounds familiar) sent me a contact request via skype. I could not remember who they were so I didn’t add them, hoping my brain would search it out (I don’t add people I don’t know).
Well today while I was in bed they called me on skype twice. Obviously I didn’t answer as I was asleep (I’m nocturnal).
Then I decided to add them to my contacts to sort this out. As soon as I did their name changed from Lumid to hippogriff and it says they have not shared contact details with me.
So I wrote it off as maybe they got mad and deleted me.
THEN they called again at around 7:30 but I couldn’t answer since I had a movie going. I decided to decline the call and text chat instead. My messages can not be sent. So I am totally voiceless.
At this point I am starting to get twitchy. I made a post here at tumblr asking for Lumid to message me, but no answer.
Then they put me in a joint call with somebody else I don’t know. They call and hang up almost immediately, then leave the group. I try to send messages through the group but I am unable to do so there too.

The milkshake: This is not limited to fast food nor to milkshakes. That ‘concoction’ is the industry standard artificial strawberry flavoring found in everything strawberry flavored that isn’t naturally flavored.
Chicken nuggets: Total lies. My sister works at the Tyson plant that provides KFC and McDonalds their nuggets. There’s no ‘pink paste’ stage. ’Reflavoring’ is an injection of mostly salt into the meat in order to give it some taste because modern day chicken is nearly flavorless. If you want to disgust people, show them the conditions of the processing plants that dismantle the chickens.
The pubic hair one: You eat more of your family’s pubic hairs cooking in your own home. You think you don’t shed once you walk in your own door?
Peanut butter: This is a cold hard truth of food mass production. There will be insects. You can never get rid of them or take them out of the process. The FDA places limits on how much can be allowed into specific foods so that food manufactories don’t get lazy and just say ‘Well we can’t keep it out.’ The FDA limit helps immensely because it makes these places try to keep the insect population down through keeping things clean.
Shellac: Oh my god this is so stupid. ’Shellac’ is an INGREDIENT. It’s a NATURAL PRODUCT produced by INSECTS. It is then PROCESSED into food-grade glaze or colorants, OR into wood and furniture polish. They don’t just take wood polish and dump it on your jawbreakers. Grow up.
Bacteriophages: The ‘phages of which you speak are used to kill the listeria virus. Listeria is a bacteria that attacks the immune system and has a one in five mortality rate. Bacteriophages? They’ve been used as an alternative to antibiotic medications in Russia and France for 90 years. That’s really disgusting and dangerous!
Coke: This is total and complete bunk. It would have been far more effective to point out that colas and carbonated drinks have been linked to weakened bones in those who overconsume them, but this is complete lies here. Again.
Salads: I think you mean propylene glycol. And again, this is bullshit. PG only causes reactions in those allergic to it. It has a very low toxicity and can only negatively affect human health if very large amounts are ingested very quickly and over a very short period of time. By which I mean ‘Find a vat of it and start drinking it and nothing else.’ Again you go for the lie instead of pointing out that fast food salads are processed and contain as much fat and cholesterol as most of the other foods offered by a fast food place.
Beef additives: This has nothing to do with fast food. This is common in MOST meats in the US. This is because the US has become so obsessed with the fat content of meat and making it ‘healthy’ that we have literally bred almost all the flavor out of every food animal breed we currently use. Flavorants are almost ALWAYS injected during processing or most of our meat would be bland and tasteless. ‘Flavorants’ typically being concentrated broth and/or salt and seasoning.
Cheese: Lies again. Only those cheeses labelled as ‘Pasteurized process cheese food’ and ‘Pasteurized process cheese spread’ match these stats. Pasteurized process cheese is simply a blended cheese made to have a sharp taste and be easily melted. Your lie here is that the 47% is referring to the cheese’s fat content, not cheese content.
This image is full of lies and misrepresented half-truths and anyone spreading this as truthful should rethink their approach.

((Another criticism post from me. I just wanna address that i want your input on this one as well Mulp. I REALLY wanted to vent on this but i thought it would be fitting to add it here instead of talking to Rai herself about it seeing as i don’t see criticism like this posted on her blog unless i was sugarcoating her. :) ))
So here we have another print by Raikissu. At first glace, it seems perfect with great composition and great use of colors. However, there are so many flaws in this picture that it’s unbelievable. Lets start off with Twilight.
She looks decent and nice. Shading looks good and the eyes are nice as well. However, i noticed one thing that bothered me. Her hair. Her hair is very well-drawn but what the hell is going on? Is her hair eating up her arms? Not really. She has them behind her hair. I can safely say that the way the hair is drawn looks like an attempt to hide her hands. Many artists will do many things to hide hands and this is one of them. It also makes it seem like she has T-rex arms since you can’t see anything. On top of that, we’re supposed to see her arms because of her hair. We have strands of hair so we’re obviously supposed to see parts of her arm and hands. Her hair isn’t made out of a thick substance but the way she’s drawn in here, it seems so.
Next is Rainbow Dash. She looks good but sorta bland. I notice Rai didn’t draw her cutie mark on her shirt. I can’t tell if it’s from laziness or rushing and forgot to add it. I have to say, she’s VERY disappointing to look at. Her hair is in a ponytail and do you notice that the pony tail isn’t laying flat on the grass? That’s right, her ponytail is defying gravity by keeping it’s shape. I know, i would be going crazy if this shit happened to me. The shading on RD is about the same as Twlight.
Next is Pinkie Pie. Pinkie looks cute being herself. I’m digging that over-sized eye of hers that’s taking up half of her head. This is my personal opinion but i REALLY HATE how Rai draws Pinkie’s mane and hair. It looks disgusting in a way in my eyes and a clusterfuck. As Pinkamena, it’s actually nice. But poofy like that, ugh. Shading is meh and i have to say, the hair is lazy and it looks very off compare to how it looks in Equestria Girls. I’m not familiar with poofy hair since my hair isn’t poofy like that but I’m pretty sure that her hair should have a shape to it with her head on the ground. Her hair looks like it’s keeping it’s shape and not even looking like it’s being smushed by the weight of her head. Another lazy attempt or poorly executed.
Now we move on to Rarity. Rarity looks very nice but because of the style she’s drawn in, she doesn’t have that elegance to her. She looks like your typical moe character from K-ON or Lucky Star. Her mane is actually nicely drawn compared to the crappy attempts Rai has done with Rarity’s mane looking very shitty and flat as paper. One error i spotted is the bracelets(?) on her wrists are supposed to be yellow instead of blue. I dunno if Rai was either not paying attention or just thought it worked well with it. Who knows. Everything is kinda bland as usual.
Now we go to Applejack. This one is confusing because it makes no sense. We get the idea everyone in this picture is laying down but what the hell is going on with her hair? This makes no sense i mean, can hair even do this? She’s laying FLAT on her “back” but how is her hair long enough to extend to the corner? I have no fucking clue but again, Rai being lazy or just not realizing the error. Shading is meh..
Last but not least, Fluttershy. I think Rai rushed on her at the last minute on one thing. Her shirt. Notice everyone has cell-shading and a bit of airbrushing on their clothes but Fluttershy? Nope, straight up airbrush and no cell-shading. Great job Rai, gotta love that. Back on topic, shading is ehh. Nothing spectacular and what the hell is going on with her hair next to Applejack? It looks like a fucking part of Slugbox’s OC Cteno. Like Pinkie, Fluttershy’s eyes take up half the size of her head. Just like Dashie, her hair is defying gravity. Her shirt looks weird. It’s a tank top but i can’t see her arms popping off from her body like a Barbie doll. Also, her right arm (Our left) is thicker then the other arm.
Now that i criticized everyone, most of them are kinda meh. The shading on their clothes isn’t as detailed compared to the shading Rai puts on some of her previous drawings so i can’t tell if she rushed on this or not. Not only that but their necks have different lengths. Fluttershy having the longest neck while Dashie having the shortest. One thing that i notice is that EVERYONE LOOKS LIKE THEY’RE STANDING UP INSTEAD OF LAYING DOWN. I’m very serious about this.
I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t be laying down looking like this unless you were posing for a magazine or just being silly. Something tells me that Rai drew them standing up from the waist down and then copied and pasted them on this canvas.
Lets take a look at the background. You know what? This is one of the worse pictures with characters laying down on the ground that i have ever seen in my life. No seriously. Let me explain. Take a look at these.
If you noticed, there are little strokes indicating grass. I noticed that not only it’s copied and pasted grass but they don’t even look like they’re laying down in grass. The grass in this picture is very lazy. I will commend Rai for adding reflections of the sun (Bits of yellow-ish green) to hint the sun but god, it’s an eyesore. If you look near Dashie, Twilight, Fluttershy and Rarity, you can see that the grass is directly under them. To be honest, it doesn’t look like grass. It looks like they’re laying on a blanket that LOOKS like grass and it isn’t grass at all. Pinkie and Applejack have no grass under them so… i don’t know what’s the deal with that.
Here’s an example on how it should’ve been done.
Even if Rai wasn’t going for something that’s really detailed like this, she could’ve pulled it off. I mean, the flowers in this picture aren’t copy and pasted and notice some of the leaves and grass overlapping the clothes and hair. Even the reflection is nice and the reflection on the pants are great. Even if grass isn’t deep, you should still see it overlapping yourself unless it’s not even long enough to overlap. In this case with Rai’s picture, it seems she was intending to show grass overlapping the girls but failed.
Another thing is the shadow to indicate a tree or some figure under them. This is another thing that confused me.
This is sloppy. The reflections on Dashie, Pinkie, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy and i assume Twilight is a GIANT CLUSTERFUCK. It makes no sense and you can’t even tell where the shadow of the tree or the figure is being reflected from by it’s location. Is it North, South, East or West? I don’t even know. Fluttershy is somewhat dark and so is Twilight, Dashie and Pinkie so it can be implied that the shadow is over them? I… i can’t even think or even figure it out because it’s very annoying.
For example.
Notice the reflections isn’t a big clusterfuck and you can tell where the tree/object is. You can even see the same similar reflections on the girls and it shines bright on them. Compared to the Mane Six, it’s confusing and it really puzzles your mind.
The shading on the ground by the Mane Six is a mix of sloppy, neat and laziness.
To sum it up, Rai needs to SERIOUSLY practice on her backgrounds and composition. I feel she can make a good background if she’s not rushing it for anything and she’s taking her sweet time with it. This background is probably one of her worst that she’s ever done compared to this one.
This isn’t rushed and you can see the effort put into this picture and everything about it. I consider this to be a really good picture despite some anatomy issues here and there and some perspective errors.
Rai is a great artist but she NEEDS to practice more on these backgrounds. She could’ve referenced some pictures of females laying down in the grass from Google or even some pictures of scenery to get an idea to pull it off. But sadly, she failed to pull this off. I suggest more practice. If she is practicing, she has to try harder. You won’t get better at something if you don’t try your best and give it all you got.
I’ve think I’ve made it pretty clear I have no time for fan-worship of pony artists but was this really necessary? The criticism here could have been condensed into a single paragraph, which gives the impression that, despite Rai’s rabid fanbase saying it too, sour grapes really was at work here.
This is so badly written it hurt to read.
Let me sum this entire thing up and show you how it’s done:
